Dr. E.Z. Panagou received his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens. His previous employment has been with the Institute of Technology of Agricultural Products as research assistant. In 2007, he joined the Department working as a Lecturer. He has participated in 15 research projects and has published 46 original research papers in scientific journals of the SCI and 4 book chapters. His work has been cited 363 times.
George Nychas is Professor in Food Microbiology in the Dept of Food Science& Human Nutrition.The last 25 years coordinated 4 and participated in more than 30 EU projects(budget >5M€),in the area of Food Safety,food Ecology, Microbial physiology of pathogenic&spoilage bacteria,Natural Antimicrobial systems, biofilms,Quorum Sensing,Bioinformatics, metabolomics,Predictive modeling and Risk Analysis.He has published 156 papers(7/2013) in SCI&25 Chapters as invited author (ca.4000 citations,h=36)
Dr. Dimosthenis Kizis graduated from the Agricultural School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, received his M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Barcelona, Spain. He has participated as researcher in six research projects and worked as lecturer in academia. He has published 9 original research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals (248 citations), 3 book chapters and holds a US patent.
Dr. Pantelis Natskoulis graduated from the Dept. of Food Science & Technology of Agricultural School of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, received his M.Sc. in Predictive Food Microbiology from Agricultural University of Athens, and his Ph.D. on Applied Mycology from Cranfield University, U.K. He has worked as a research associate in several research projects.
Dr. Vasiliki Blana graduated from the Dept. of Food Science and Technology, Agricultural University of Athens. In 2012, she received her PhD diploma on Food Microbiology from Cranfield Health Department in the U.K. Since then, she works as a post-doctoral fellow in the Agricultural University of Athens on various national and European research and educational projects.
Dr. P. A. Tryfinopoulou received her B.Sc degree in October 1995 and Ph.D. degree in March 2002 from the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens. She has been employed with the Laboratory of Food Microbiology and Biotechnology as a research assistant and as an assistant staff. She has also participated in 11 European and National research projects and published 3 original research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals of the SCI.
Miss Efi Kogkaki graduated from the Dept. of Crop Production of the School of Agricultural Technology of Educational Technological Institute of Crete. She received postgraduate studies at Cranfield University, UK, where she obtained her MSc degree at the discipline of ‘Food Chain Systems’.
Miss Iliada Lappa graduated from the Agricultural University of Athens at 2009. She received MSc in "Food Quality and Hygiene Control Management Systems" from the Department of Food Science and Technology. She is now a PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Food Microbiology and Biotechnology of A.U.A.
